Huh? Ripken is already in the the HOF. 537 out of 545 of the ballots cast (98.53%).

Ripken is in the HOF already and was not a unanimous pick.

EDIT Zach beat me to it.

I'm guessing Boggs was a bigger asshole than Brett.
Which simply points out the idiocy of HOF voting. Personalities come into play a lot.

Fine. Then while you're at it, campaign to have Hank Aaron--an admitted drug cheat--removed from the hall.

I think Brett gets harmed by the fact that he wasn't the best 3rd baseman of his era, let alone all-time.

I'll take that bet!

testosterone in pill form has been around since the late 40s. i'd like to see it verified that none of the golden/silver age players took any.

if they let McGwire in, they'd certainly have to give Pete Rose his due also... I don't see it happening anytime soon.

Okay, how about Greg Maddux as the first unanimous first-ballot HOFer?

deserves to be, but there's always a dissident or a writer with a grudge.

Pete Rose was banned from involvement with professional baseball for gambling. (And the Hall chose to accept this, though it didn't have to).
McGwire was never even suspended for anything.

While I think the Rose exclusion is BS, I fail to see any connection between the two.
