Hi guys!

I bought these shoes recently, and something just doesn't seem right about them.

What do you think?

the leather is too flimsy, the size on the sole is off center, the box is not bright red. i tried searching for ferragamo firenze (which is what is written on the sole), and ive found nothing.... but then again, i dont know much about ferragamos

I would say, just enjoy them.

I'm not a Ferragamo expert and don't own any myself, but it doesn't seem like the type of brand that people would forge.

Hi I am not a Ferragamo expert. But the leather quality looks ok on the pair . I think these pair would be real. Making fake pair of shoes with quality leather and leather sole alone would cost few hundred $$. And making just few pairs wouldn't be economic either. Unless they make thousands of fake shoes of that same model. fake shoes are mostly popular among sports shoes like Nike. Just enjoy them !

Oh there's definitely plenty of Ferragamo counterfeits out there, including shoes. I think the OP had a right to be concerned about their authenticity, seen as they come from the 'Bay.

not much of a ferragamo expert either but that's the risk of buying on ebay or any online retailer sometimes, especially shoes, you have no chance to fit them right away or gauge their authenticity. just my two cents.

It's pretty hard to be an 'expert' on Ferragamo as they outsource all their manufacturing and thus the minor details of construction can vary. But I've owned a lot of them over the years, bought my first pair in 1977.

These are probably real, The thin leather that concerns you is actually a hallmark of these sorts of bologna construction shoes. As is extreme flexibility.

It would be a rare fake indeed that had leather with such a nice finish, stitching as tight, etc. etc. The liner on the footbed looks perfectly authentic (A flimsy piece of highly laquered leather slapped in without much need of trimming.)

You didn't get a super bargain, these go on sale all the time, but you didn't overpay either.

Enjoy them when the weather is warm, that's what they are for!

I own five pairs of Ferragamos and they are all quite thin and flexible.

I would not worry about it too much, you did not pay full retail for them and they are probably real. They are pretty nice looking shoes.

Does it say Ferragamo on the buckle?

@graymerica: Nope. It does not say Ferragamo on the buckle. I read online that there should be some engraving on the buckle, but these did not have them.

Also, it came in this box:

I did a search for this quote, and the only thing that came back was some girl's site on vintage. Maybe this is a vintage shoe?
