But why bother - do you have a pair of good dark blue denim jeans? Wouldn't they look better?
If you do decide to mix browns with black be sure to carefully coordinate the shades of brown - it's your only hope.

Yes I have a pair of dark blue denim jeans, but it's not dark enough to provide contrast against the dark brown. I will try them on and see what I think looks better.

This is the look I'm going for. I don't have the same exact blazer, but similar in corduroy instead of twill. I have the same body build, 5'11", 155 lbs, 38 chest, 31 waist.

I think this looks really sharp. He's got a lighter brown belt and I'm assuming that you would need to have the same color shoe for it to work.

The black twill jeans I'm planning to wear is by AG - The Protoge (http://www.agjeans.com/The_Protege__Super_Black/pd/np/806/p/1997.html) I also have a the dark grey version of the same pants but is not dark enough to pop the contrast of the brown blazer.

Really surprised to everyone's negativity with these two colors. I've see people wearing brown casual dress shoes with black chinos and think it's ugly, but then I saw one wearing brown distressed wingtips in a similar color and it works. Besides the color, I think the style of shoe and design helps put the look together.

How many posts do I need before I'm allowed to timely post a reply or write a thread without moderators approving it each time. It takes 1 day to interact with a forum and it's really annoying.

I'm kind of too distracted by the terrible fit of this jacket to comment on the colors or fabrics...but to the extent that I can, a light blue twill shirt, a wool necktie, and some dark brown cords would improve the look significantly IMHO

It may just be my bad laptop screen, but those trousers look kinda navy to me.
