Floating an idea - Styleforum and other SF Streetwear/Denim party on the East Coast - Page 2

One advantage of the Dirty* is that it's the least hip of any of the cities floated thus far, by a pretty significant margin. Everyone would get like +10 coolness and at least +5 good looks the minute they stepped off the plane. *DC

If you want to be fair to sf's on the east and west coast, nebraska is right in the middle. My dad has a huge backyard so we can have a cookout and play soccer. There are also loads of fresh organic apples, pears and red raspberries that everyone could pick. Probably be quite a bit of corn and greenbeans too...

If in DC I would see myself there. However, there are some pressing questions. Who would provide the girls and where'd the afterparty be at? Ok...we're a little ahead of our selves (except the planners) but lets keep those two questions in mind.

For all those on the west coast, I could forsee throwing two Style Forum parties a year: the first in the west in the late winter/early spring for the Spring Summer stuff and a second in the east in late summer/early fall for fall winter shipments.

Philly's cheaper for both. WAAAAAY cheaper. And it's actually cheaper and honestly a little bit faster to take the Greyhound to NYC instead of the trains. Unless you spring for the Amtrak, but that shit's too overpriced.

the buses ARE faster during the week, but on the weekends, i find the buses to take twice as long, easily. sauce, haven't you found the chinatown buses? $20 round trip nyc/philly there's two battling companies---good prices. psychotic drivers. that's half the price of greyhound

That's what I used to think, but no! Greyhound's the same price: http://www.greyhound.com/scripts/en/...er/esavers.asp I think they figured out that everyone was just taking the Chinatown buses instead. I usually head out to NYC on Friday evenings, and return on Sunday evening, so I didn't realize the buses sometimes took longer. I've unfortunately had both SEPTA and NJT trains completely die on me before--once, a SEPTA train died about 2 min outside of 30th St. Station, then the BACKUP train died about 10 min outside of Trenton. That trip took almost 5 hours total. I finished my book early and had nothing to do. I also had to piss on some poor person's fence near the tracks while waiting for the backup backup train. It was snowing. Screw you, SEPTA, screw you.

You're welcome, but don't thank me, thank the student employees I manage who live in NYC and clued me in. They're the real heroes of this story.
