I have improved a lot in my absence. Currently I am working on photographing more people, and my new job should help with that (I get to interact with the community). To start, here is some of my most recent stuff (from newest to oldest, all from the past six months):

Dave

Toshi

Swallowtail Feeding

Imperial Moth Wings

Ford Maverick Grabber

Orange GMC

Aspen

Smithsonian Buttes BLM (Utah)

Carrera RS

Here's my Flickr, feel free to add me!

Nice, Gravitas. I like the "flora and fauna" shots best; more interesting than the car pics.

Thanks NOBD, I know car shots aren't for everyone, but they make me giddy like a child. I haven't been hiking as much in the past few weeks, though I road-tripped across the US at the beginning of July (and it was stellar).

Thanks Kaplan, I am definitely proud of those two shots, the shot of Dave is one of my favorite portraits I have shot. The shot of the aspen was a fun day, I took it on a hike to Conundrum Hot Springs outside Aspen (probably my favorite Colorado experience).

Here are a few more shots I want to share:

Left Behind (along the Carrizo Gorge Railway in Anza Borrego State Park in CA)

San Diego from the SD Zoo Tramway

Bridge over Deep Creek

Catalina Ridge Panorama

New River (West Virginia)

Hill in Bloom (HDR with a good bit of PP)

Green Frog (that is the actual common name)

California Tree Frog

Great Basin Fence Lizard

Striped Shore Crab

Drops on a Web:

Last but not least, an R8 GT (I had to post at least one more car shot smile.gif )

From here on out, I'll try to stick to new stuff.

I'm not a car guy, but I really like those first two car shots - the colors really pop. Nice work.

Lately I barely get to photograph. Tonight I went out to film a bit, all muda. Well, you can't win everyday.

1 acceptable shot though. The moon was awesome today.

To high-jack the thread for a minute: I'm looking to get a decent P&S (many reasons an SLR isn't feasible that I don't really want to get into), any suggestions? I was looking around and found the Sony RX100 and RX100 MKII, both of which seem like outstanding daytime / pseudo-manual cameras, but was wondering if you guys had other ideas, especially in the more traditional P&S price range ($100-$300).

Get the RX100. You won't be disappointed.

You should wait for the Panasonic LX-7 to go on its occasional sub-$300 sale.

^ Like the first one, but would've liked to see it with the vertical line centered.
