The A77 looks like a blast to use. There's an excellent photo review of Antarctica Penguins and wildlife over at dpreview from a guy who shot with the A77.

Mitch won the Iris D' Or competition with his storm pics which is awesome. Close to storms? I know all about that. I've gotten into serious trouble by getting too close. This is a shot of an extremely rare gust front tornado that more or less went through my backyard last year. This one was about a third of a mile away. My fascination with wild weather is how I've gotten stuck in 5 inch hail, nearly hit by lightning and how I managed to get myself into the middle of two tornadoes. Most of my friends go storm chasing with me one time and run like hell when I say something like get in the car there's a storm coming. LOL!

Thanks IC. I should have done this a while back. It makes my job so much easier to do.

Finally received a roll of Ilford back. The drug store development is supposed to take 2 to 5 days, I've had to wait exactly 2 weeks... again. The 1.5 megapixel scans are worse than scanning the prints I think. Oh well.

All shot with Ilford XP2 in a Canon EOS 3... either with the EF 40 2.8 STM or the 35L.

So their scans came out to 1.5 MP?
Yep. 1500 x 1000 pixel or something like that. They basically develop, then scan, then they make prints of the lousy scans and burn them also on CD. Runs you aproximatelx 10 EUR for a 135 film.
There's unfortunately not so much alternative. I really think I might consider developing myself, but then it needs all that chemical stuff and so on.

Nice pics, Szeph. I'd like to be at that beach.

B&W developing is not that bad or hard to do Szeph. What you will need though is a good negative scanner. Getting B&W film developed and decently scanned around here is expensive. Not to mention you have to make two trips to the lab every time you want something developed. In the long run it'll save you a ton of money and time to do it yourself.

More storm stuff...
