I understand. Because of my laziness (to get the tripod out), I couldn't get more sharp than what you see, unless I increased the ISO (which was already at 1250). I like to play with minimal focus though, like with these beans:

^ Yeah, I'd still like to see more smile.gif (or less: Having the background disappear more - be more blurry.) Nice colours!

il ciclista, Hipstamatic can be fun; 1 & 3 are nice. Ina's 69 + John S is probably the best combo (though not for everything) - Jimmy is often too yellow I think. Have you bothered buying more packs? Do you PP when using Hipstamatic or just accept as is, Polaroid style?

A few from the past week or two... playing with perspective.

its a great shot by itself - but tagging/naming it miami really expounds on the subject manner.

haha there's quite a bit of post-processing in this photo– a lot of HSL tweaking and some masked in microcontrast in some areas.

Kaplan, I haven't PP any of them..they look okay enough for me and I don't take them too seriously anyways. I was looking into one of the packs that had black and white but the other two don't seem very interesting to me. I just got the phone but I assumed there were more packs than just 4?

Agreed. For me, the interesting thing about Hipstamatic is that it's a 'camera app' and not a 'photo app', in the sense that you pick a setting and shoot, and what you get is what you get. Opposed to the many PP apps that lets you get a similar look but with way too many options/decisions (for this kind of thing). Btw, from the framing of your shots above it seems you've found this, but in case you haven't, you can change the viewfinder mode from 'Classic' to 'Precision Framing' in the phone's 'Settings' menu (scroll down to your apps).

You can only choose between 4? Atm I have 7 in the 'Featured Camera Gear' section. A couple of weeks ago they gave away the 'NSW Always On' (Nike co-lab) pak for free, with two B&W films and a new lens. Occasionally old paks are phased out and new ones introduced. Recently they offered two baskets with several discontinued paks in each, for those that missed them the first time around (I haven't bought any additional paks).

Hipstamatic also have a new app called 'Disposable'. Each camera (you get 2 and can buy more) has it's own characteristics (adjustable on a slider) and you can't see your shots until you've taken 24 and the camera is 'developed'.

Jetblast's airplane shot is definitely the best one of the last few pages, great light.
Captainfunk's Miami pic is really cool too.
Not really feeling the flower pics.

Got a new lens, the Sigma 12-24mm today, and decided to test it right away. Using such an extreme wide-angle lens is quite different to what I'm used to; I have been using my 35mm prime most of the time (1.5x crop frame), and sometimes the 18-55 kit-lens - so this pretty cool.

If you look closely at the fountain picture, you can see a rainbow - best example of being at the right place at the right time I can think of! I liked the light on the Covent Garden pic because the right side is in the shade and the left is lighted - really gives it an edge.

What is the difference in classic and precision? I didn't really notice much.
Sorry, you're right there are 8 lenses, but you have to buy 4 of those. I currently have on my screen john s, jimmy,Kaimal, buckhorst, lucifer, helga viking, roboto glitter, bettie XL. I'm assuming this is where you're talking about feature gear? (where you choose your lenses and such)

My mom has that disposable app it was pretty fun and takes me back to the days of film. smile.gif

Kas I like the 2nd pic alot..cool rainbow. The first one the top half is interesting, the bottom a little dark...maybe a separate masked layer to brighten it?

'Classic' is slightly random, doesn't show the exact framing. With 'Precision' what you see is what you get (for both, double tap the finder for a larger view).

For me, the camera came with 4 lenses and ATM there are 7 Hipstapaks you can buy in-app. 6 of these come with 1 new lens, all have new films, some have new flashes or flash gels, a couple have new camera designs. I haven't bothered buying any additional paks as I feel too many options can be distracting and I'm not really using the app that much. But for some things it's great :-)
