Even though my uneducated eyes see a chair that looks like the spring steel door panel clip from a 1965 Buick Skylark sitting before a frosty honeycomb from genetically disturbed African Killer Bees, I (too) find the technology interesting. This is not the type of marble that one would see in the garden at the Musée Rodin.
Metal extrusion is something I understand. I don't kow how anyone might actually extrude solid stone. What is the actual process? Do they create some slurry with marble chips and dust? Is the process some distant cousin of the technology that creates so-called marble statues that litter the shelves of gift stores and "art galleries" around the world? The machinery to make the items must be interesting and maybe even a work of art itself.
