I recently bought 3 cedar shoe trees (size 6.5E-7.5E)and a shoe valet box from Cedarvillestore. But when shoe trees arrived I was shocked to find out that they didn’t fit the shoes I ordered them for, even though my shoe size is 7E.
And it's here the story begins:
On their web site it states that they will give a FULL REFUND in bold letters followed by a conflicting statement that you won’t refund shipping and handling. Since this is a huge conflict on your website that encourages customer distraction from the actual facts; this falls into false advertising as outlined in Taylor vs. Norman, United States Supreme Court.
Since I live outside the US, the shipping costs for sending my shoe trees back would cost more than the cedar shoe trees themselves. I could understand Cedarvillestore if I wanted to send them back without reason, but Cedarvillestore made a mistake and sendt me too small shoe trees. The shoe trees they sendt me were marked 38/39 which is 5.5E to 6.5E, obviously much smaller than what I paid for.
It's strange how Cedarvillestore handles this case, even when this is their own mistake. I think this often reveal which companies who are less serious and who don't take their customers seriously. The best companies are the ones that bite in the sour apple and refund the shipping costs too. In the end, it is Cedarvillestore who lose the most by showing such bad behaviour. Atleast when angry customers share their story, not only to Styleforum, but to multiple forums.
