I commisioned my 1st suit which was a navy blue 9 oz worsted suit with Holland & Sherry fabric from W.W Chan earlier this year and the fit is spot on. Thus, I recently ordered 3 more suits from W.W. Chan and my fabric choices are as follows:
1) Blue Pinstripe H & S Target Elite 9oz
2) Blue Check H & S Cape Horn suit 11 oz
3) Dark Grey H & S Sharkskin Cape Horn Suit 11 oz
I'm not a fan of grey suits in general and love navy but all of my suits cannot be navy. Thus, I commissioned a dark grey sharkskin suit and I'm having second thoughts about the fabric. I chose the fabric becasue I'm 6"3 and lean so I wanted some texture in the fabric. What is the boards opinion on Sharpskin Fabric in general? Should I keep the suit, make another fabric choice in grey, or just cancel the grey suit? Any opinions on sharkskin fabric would be greatly appreciated.
I spend most of my time in the midwest, wear a suit everyday, and believe in the philosophy of quality over quantity. In terms of suit weights, I generally prefer my suits to be all season or at least 3 out of 4 seasons. Thus, I'm not a fan of anything less than 8 oz fabric which are pretty much summer only in my opinion or 13 oz or greater which is strictly winter. I don't have unlimited funds so trying to build my wardrobe.
