Black Friday 2011

Thought it might be interesting to keep track of any deals people hear about leading up to Black Friday.

Brooks Brothers outlets will be 50% off in the early morning (it might be 40% off all day with a 10% kicker before noon, I can't remember). The stores around me open somewhere between 10pm -12 am. Yes, that's 10pm Thanksgiving night. No need to spend time with your family. Thanks for the green bean casserole, grandma, but if you'll excuse me I've got to go shopping.

A Cole Haan outlet rep also told me they will be 50% off all morning, and open similar hours to Brooks.

Black Friday ads have been released for Macy's, Penny's, Kolhs, and others here: www.bfads.net

Didn't realize Buffett Jr would have to stand in line to get a deal on his clothes...

He learned good money sense from his dad. Pops didn't make his billions by ignoring a good deal. Yes, everyone has to wait to get the deal.

I wouldn't mind knowing if brooksbrothers.com is doing anything that day. Maybe even Neiman's or Saks biggrin.gif

Is this true? They actually sell quality BB ties at the outlet near me.

I've heard that regular Brooks Brothers would have 15% off like they did last year; I'd assume the website would feature the same sale.  Neiman's told me they are not having any special Black Friday sales because "we don't do that here" (said with a certain smugness). I don't have a Saks around me other than the Off5th store.

The Neiman Marcus Last Call near me will be doing 40% off and will be opening just one hour earlier than normal. The one down the road at the outlet mall is opening at either 11pm Thanksgiving night or midnight, I can't remember which.

so is it true that they open at 10 pm on thanksgiving or is that certain locations?

I think each location will be doing its own hours, but if it's in an outlet mall they are very likely to be opening sometime between 10pm and midnight since almost all Outlet malls are opening with those hours. The BB Outlet I talked to was opening sometime between 10pm and midnight...can't remember when exactly.

it all varies based on location.

Last year Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Outlets had about 40% off on one item and 30% off others from 12pm to 1am - and then 30% off for the remainder. After a week it dropped to 20% off or something.

Probably gonna skip that one, nothing worth while unless you need oxfords and casual wear.

Will these apply to the online store?

There's no online factory store
