Dear Ich Dien,

I assume or presume you mean my desire for a passport case is driven by vanity and that the money used to pay for such a case would be far better invested in something more important. (It occurs to me certain books would be nice to have.) If my interpretation of what you wrote is correct, please let me say in defense that I have the impression most readers of my thread don't share my fear of losing a passport - I have lost mine twice - nor are they so sloppy as I seem to be - if I put a yogurt in my bag of books, it is sure to get a leak, etc. - so they don't fear that their passports will soon get stained by coffee or whatever. The former problem is more serious than the latter. So my vanity is being neurotic and chaotic. As far as price goes, I used a quite cheap plastic envelope for many years, which had to be regularly replaced.

Here is an example from my daily life: http://www.torquato.de/schluesselanhaenger-loop-braun.html - I attach that to the belt of my trousers. Unfortunately, if I wear RTW Cordings cords like now, I have to put my key ring in my book bag. I have lost my passport twice, and I dare not lose it again - especially since I just got my new passport. it is true that the cover is quite sturdy. But the warning that it shouldn't be bent because it contains sensitive electronics is a joke - if i don't put the passport in some kind of protector, it's gonna get bent! involuntarily. So yu can be grateful that you do not belong to the chaots and slobs. I received the suggestion from a representative of Ettinger I should look for a lamyard (misspelled). Soldiers have a metal tag with their data on a sort of necklace - why not a passport, too? It seems to me the most secure solution. But the first step is the case in any case.

Personally, I keep mine in my breast pocket or in a larger travel wallet that's big enough for my folded itinerary, boarding passes, etc. To my mind, a case that does nothing but protect the passport -- as opposed to keeping all travel documents organized -- simply adds bulk without much utility. Say what you will about the quality of government goods, but passports in general seem to be well built and strong enough to take ten years of abuse. Like I said, though, everyone's needs are different.

If you lose your larger travel wallet - everything's gone. I share your dislike of bulk and must also replace my wallet. I consider getting quite a small one, for instance

If you put everything in one case and you lose it? I must replace my wallet soon, and consider something like this: http://www.torquato.net/kk-wallet.html Its measurements are 7.5 x 10.5. I don't like the manufacturer's name on it and only black and natural are offered - but I haven't seen a small one elsewhere. Again, my view is coloured by my fear of loss.

I'm sorry that I instrumentalise this forum to ask questions which are superfluous for persons well organised and on a higher level of evolution than me. Although I don't have regular access to internet, I could use my time for other purposes if I didn't intend to take measures to prevent my passport from damage or loss. If i don't take measures to do so, nobody else will. Since i usually overlook something obvious or don't know everything, I'm grateful for tips. For example - now I discovered that my favorite RTW shirtmaker's collars get worn. I suppose I must wear these shrts with the conviction worn collars are artistic?

Where did you get your passport case?

Thank you very much. I looked at the Aspinal website, which I find very interesting. I don't understand how Aspinal can offer passport cases at such low prices. Presumably imported?
