Looking to get my sister a "bookshelf" type system, loves music and has nothing to play it on that is decent. Doesnt want anything crazy... but wants something she can play all her downloaded music on, either by plugging in her ipod or streaming like Sonos...

Can do a Sonos S5/S3 system with a ZP90 bridge, making it a wireless system for around $500, but wanted to see if there were any other/better options out there. I have yet to hear the S5/S3 but they are getting killer reviews and I have Sonos on my home system and love the interface and all the extras it comes with...

I think it comes in white as well.

I am not a fan of those enclosed all-in-one iPod "hifi" systems. To me it's akin to buying an HTIB for your home theater.

I like the audioengine line as well. Fluance makes a nice, elegant iPod stereo for $200.

I thought Fluance sounded familiar. I was toying with the idea of buying some of their speakers about 4-5 years ago. I ended building my own, but from what I remember they are supposed to be very good value for money. Too bad that little iPod speaker dock was half priced only a week back.

Maybe they will do a Black Friday special.
