Clarks Desert Boots - Page 433

Retired my almost 2-years old Beeswax DBs and bought a new pair. First wearing today. Great color on this pair! Here's a quick pic:

Looking for either beeswax desert boots or Bushacre 2's, any recommendations?

Not sure if you're referring to my post, but if so, I absolutely recommend the Original Desert Boot over the Bushacre. Beeswax is my preference and is the only color I've every owned and probably ever will own, though some of the suede versions are nice. I've never owned Bushacres, but have handled them in stores and they seem of much lower quality than the Desert Boot. IMO, the extra price of the DB is definitely justifiable. $120 is still a reasonable price, and you should get your money's worth out of the boots.

Shoot I guess I didn't quote the OP's comment and just made a new post haha. Thanks for your input, interesting that they look so similar but are of different quality... I will reply to the correct post this time and see what that guy has to say

Hello, everyone.

In another forum, someone asked for photos of the Clark's Bushacre 2 with colored laces. And a few people here have asked about the Bushacre 2, so I thought I'd post a photo of my chocolate suede Bushacre 2 boots with rad...er...red laces. (I'm hoping to pick up a pair of the original DB in the Beeswax soon and add colored laces. Yellow, I think.)

On a side note and because I enjoy stories, the second day after replacing the standard brown laces with these new red laces, I was walking back from the mailboxes at my apartment community. I was flipping through my mail as I passed a young lady who was walking her dog. She said, "Nice shoes, by the way!" (I remember her words quite clearly, because the phrase "by the way" caught me off guard. That, and it was the first time a stranger has complimented me on my shoes or clothes since I began reinventing myself in January 2013.)

Anyway...enjoy the quick photo. Oh, and the matching cat toy was already on the floor in front of me. How lucky. =)

Whats everyone's thoughts on this?

Just a low style instead of the mid like the typical styles. Not bad I think.. Anyone have these?

Tried them on at a DSW about about a year or so ago. Hated them. In theory, I like the style, but very cheap and poor execution. The leather and construction quality are nowhere near that of DBs, not to mention the leather, even though called "Beeswax", is much darker than Beeswax DBs. Very stiff leather and they were extremely uncomfortable almost to the point that they were painful, unlike my DBs which are very comfortable. Also, every single pair at DSW had TONS of obvious scratches in the leather. I know that beeswax DBs are prone to scratches and for the most part they don't bother me, but the amount of scratches on the Bushacre Los was just ridiculous. Maybe that's why they were being sold at DSW, I dunno.

As an alternative to these, I'd recommend the Clarks Jink if you're looking for a low-top Desert Boot equivalent. The Jink also has a much thinner sole and shorter heal, which I like a lot better than the clunky heel of the Bushacre Lo.

^ Thanks alot.

What other colors do you guys have in Clarks? I only have the Beeswax but thinking about getting another pair. Maybe the lighter color to beeswax? Black? What is versatile?

Anyone have pics of worn in grey suede vs. leather CDB? Deciding to return my suede for leather..

Also, I am an 8 in red wing iron rangers but got 8.5 in CDB (very minimal heel slip)..8 seemed really snug. The guy at nordstroms told me to get 8.5 instead tho..

what is the difference between the http://www.ronniefieg.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/IMG_8541.jpg (ronnie fieg grey saddle leather) and the grey leather ones from amazon? http://www.amazon.com/Clarks-Mens-Desert-Black-Leather/dp/B0040FQP5U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367120340&sr=8-1&keywords=clarks+shoes+men+leather

My 2.5 years old Beeswax DB has started developing hole on the leather. Any experience of what caused that? Should i get a new pair now? Any suggestion of color/style other than the one I already had?
