Clarks Desert Boots - Page 405

Does anyone know if this site: http://www.shop-cora.com/boots-clarks-c-25_69.html?page=4&sort=20a is legit?

I just ordered a pair of Size 11 (it wasn't specified as to US or UK so i assumed since I was buying Clarks, a UK company it would be UK sizing) Desert Mali boots in Beeswax, I instantly recieved conformation email, however after 12 hours my order is still "pending".

I also tried their contact us button in order to change the sizing to a 10.5 however their email bounces and I have had no reply from the message option.

The prices almost seem too good to be true? anyone else think so?

Looks like a bullshit site dude. $50 is way too cheap even for used shoes lol. Check out this site, cause you've probably been scammed

Phew. Thank you so much for the advice. Luckily shop-cora were slow to accept the paypal payment, so almost 24 hours after I payed for them I cancelled the paypal transaction. Businesses like that infuriate the hell out of me.

I spoke to a paypal customer service rep and they said they would do what they could to freeze payments to shop-cora as it was not the first time a complaint has been made.

Since i'm (luckily) not out of pocket, the thing that i'm most gutted about is not getting a pair of the beautiful Desert Mali in Beeswax. Does anyone know anywhere besides amazon (they don't have my size)  that sells the Desert Mali online? I really want to get my hands on a pair. Also international shipping would be nice as i live in NZ.

thanks again dudes.

I tried on a pair of beeswax Bushacres at a DSW store and found them very uncomfortable. The sole had pretty much no padding.

I have a gift certificate there, so I have to buy something there. They charge $80 for the Bushacres and $120 for the Desert boots.

I'd prefer to buy the Bushacres because of the cheaper price and the presumably better durability, but not if they're going to feel like they did in the store. If I bought the Bushacres and put a cushioned insole in them, could they be as comfortable as a crepe-sole shoe, or a normal rubber-soled casual shoe that has padding?

BTW, I also bought a pair of these Land's End Jackon crepe-soled chukkas in dark brown suede, on clearance for $38. http://canvas.landsend.com/pp/mens-jackson-chukka-boot~203389_-1.html Any opinions on them? They look nice to me. I'm not sure how to judge construction quality. I tried them on and they're very comfortable, but I haven't worn them out yet. I need to figure how I'm going to protect them (silicone spray or something else?) I'm a little worried about the durability as I've never had suede shoes before, or crepe sole.

@styletert - I have the lands end boots that you have :)  I've worn them 3 times and so far I love them they are very comfortable, only time will tell though how they hold up.  as of now they seem pretty decent in quality. I was originally going to get the clarks dark brown boots but I couldn't turn down the LE boot pricing.

Got a pair for $60 at nordstrom rack.

I've got an almost new pair of the Beeswax in Size 11 if anyone's interested. They're on eBay so I can't predict what they'll go for, but it's currently at $39 with no bids. There pics on the auction, but I can upload more or answer any questions if you're curious. Thanks!

Stepped in some fresh gum this morning on the bus (seriously? wtf...can't even stick it under a seat or wait until you can throw it on the sunny sidewalk, I gotta pick up somebody's morning chew from the floor of the bus?).

It has attached itself deep into the crepe...briefly tried freezing it with an ice cube to chip it off...but then it just hardens up inside the pores of the crepe and won't move. Found a jar of peanut butter in the office fridge and smeared some on. I've never tried the peanut butter thing so I just smeared it around and scraped at it with a spoon. A lot of gum came off, but there is still sticky gum hiding in the crepe and now there is peanut butter in the crepe's pores as well since it doesn't all exactly wash off.

What is the best insert/insole for Clark DBs? Consensus.. I've looked through this thread and couldn't find an answer

I hear Dr.Scholl's are good... but what kind?
