So how does sizing work with DBs?

I'm an 8.5 (U.S.) in any Vans and in Sperry's boat shoes, but I've read some mixed replies concerning whether to size down or not in Clarks DBs.


Also, which color do you recommend I get: the taupe distressed or beeswax? Which is more versatile?

For me I love the Beeswax.

 

I wear a 8.5 in Vans authentics with some room to spare, but wear a 7.5 in Desert Boots. I can size down to a 7.0, but I prefer not to since I can wear some thicker socks during winter.

A full size down?

If it helps, I'm an 8 in Converse.



Also, what's the "true" color of the taupe distressed?

Should I just go with beeswax to be safe?

Hi, new to this thread and thinking about picking up a pair of Beeswax Clarks. I was wondering, why do others on here darken the leather? Is that just a thing of preference?

Following on, what is a product that will waterproof/protect the Beeswax and Grey Leather colours, but not darken them?

I can only find waterproofers that darken. Help a brother out?

@aussie I used fiebings mink oil it darkened the leather at first, but returned to it's normal color after a day or two
you can find a bottle for around 7-8 dollars on ebay

Thank you. I'm currently chasing after Clarks own protector/weather proof and conditioner products, to see if I can get the company (or anyone) to ship to Australia. If this doesn't work, I'll try that Mink Oil. Only think is, I've heard Mink Oil isn't the best for the stitching and shoe?

hey guys, is the saddle leather version closer to full grain/beeswax? or are they closer to the suede?

Are these beeswax Clarks? The laces are obviously after-market, but the stitching and design looks the same. However the sole looks much darker, don't know if it's been treated or just dirty. I haven't been impressed with most pictures of CDBs but I REALLY like the character and patina on these boots.

 

Looks to be a worn pair of Beeswax. The soles darken really fast. Get a pair and wear it out.

i recommend size 8.

I had avoided CDB because I wasn't feeling the look of suede and I didn't like the contrast between the sole and the upper, but those are really great looking. Looks like I'll be picking up a pair in beeswax.

Actually, upon further review I think those are bushacres. Which are cheaper. Hrm.

I could be wrong, but they look like regular Beeswax DBs to me.
