It's usually a bar (sort of like a rubber eraser) that you use to rub out stains, and a brush to raise the nap. 

Stop being a tight ass and just get it. It's a good price

So I've narrowed down my options to blue, grey, olive or taupe DBs. Could use some advice.

 

First, since I am ordering online I want to get the color correct. Are there many different types of blue non-leather DBs? Nubuck/suede?

 

Also which of these would most flexible in matching with khakis, jeans and can make me get away with business very casual time trousers?  I am leaning towards blue or grey but am not sure what pants to match with them.

I got my new beeswax boots in the mail yesterday. Very happy with them, they're awesome. Couple questions, the first more important than the second.

 

1. I'm flying to France for 90 days on Monday. It's very likely that there will be regular snow/rain for the first couple of weeks. What do I need to do to make sure my boots can hold up to the environment? I bought some mink oil, but there seems to be some controversy online about whether it's good to use or not so I haven't applied it yet.

2. What color socks do you guys wear with these?

Zappos and amazon are both listing desert boots for $125 now. They definitely are over priced now at $125.

too bad I wanted a pair of beeswax as my taupe ones are looking quite beat now

What's the deal with the shitty laces? I've only had two pairs of DBs but the laces snapped after about a month and even the Clarks store doesn't sell replacement laces.

size 9 I believe. or was it 8.5 I can't keep track anymore with all these shoes.

and I'm surprised so many people are breaking laces so fast. Mine are still going althought a bit frayed and weak feeling now.

When did Clarks raise their prices? I was pretty sure the DBs were $110 and now I see they are $125

Luckily I bought 2 new pairs right after Christmas when all boots were 25% off and I managed to use a 15% of coupon on-line.

Got DB in Beeswax for $85 and Street Hi's for like $110

1) Street Hi GTX -- which have to be one of the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Gore-tex is nice too.
