Clarks Desert Boots - Page 383

For what it's worth I don't have wide feet and my feet are skinny:

I wear size 8.5 WITH a thin sole added.

Normally I wear 9 for converse and vans, and 42 for CP achilles (41.5 would be ideal if they made them)

San Francisco Union Square Banana Republic (I know BR sucks) have the sand DB's and grey suede DB's on sale for $35 right now. They're listed at $70 with 50% off all sale items. They still had most sizes in stock up to 11s and 12s in both other than 8.5s or so as of this afternoon.

Hmm I think a 9.5 should work then especially for the leather ones

I wear a size 9 in clarks DB should I go for 9.5 for the Desert Mali?
For the price, are there better boots similar to the Desert Mali or should I go with the DM? I'm thinking about buying the beeswax leather model.

I was looking at this boot and have heard good things about Chippewa from this forum! They make the LL Bean Katahdins and the J crew Chippewas also!

How do these soles wear down? Do they stay this stark white (sorta like red wing soles) or do they wear down a bit and darken?

Just got a pair of the sand suede from amazon. I love how they look but it's a tight fit. Bought the same size as chucks but might have been better off getting half a size larger. There is still space lengthwise but my pinky toe is rubbing against the edge of the boot. I hope it stretches. Definitely want to buy a pair of beeswax leather when I can find a good deal on one in smaller sizes.

Amazon has the black "Jamaican" suede for $44.xx right now. At least in size 10.5 they do.

well seeing as they are the same exact sole as Red Wing boots use (vibram cristy)...then would wear down the same way

i tried on some clarks at the local rack, and it was really stiff and uncomfortable, do they break in? also is the toe area supposed to look round and bulky? not sure if those were the "original DB"

is $70 shipped a good price to kop for oakwood suede?

Alright, I just got a pair of DBs in Beeswax. This is my first pair of boots in general, so I was wondering what kind of care, if any, is needed? I've seen varying forms of information such as, "Don't do anything to them." to, "Use all of these products!", so I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do. I'm sure this has been answered somewhere in the thread, but I wasn't able to find it frown.gif.
