Soak through the leather or crepe or something? I mean, i wore some whatever leather sneakers with rubber soles in light snow and it wasn't a huge problem. I'm not gonna be donning sorel snow boots every time there is a little bit of snow

Suede holds fine, I just find that it's slippery (as in, you'll ******* slip and crack your head). And sizing, yeah, stick to your chuck size.

Perfect. Just what i was looking for, thanks. Sucks about the slipping but whatever. I should just superglue some sticky stuff to them or something

I haven't had any problems slipping (more so than usual), it just sucks when the snow soaks through the leather.

Ya but just to clarify, it's not exactly the crepe sole. What I've noticed is that walking through the snow builds up a thin, compact layer of slippery snow/ice residue on the bottom of my soles, so it's more like I'm walking on slippery ice with... slippery ice.

Same thing has happened to all my non-rubber bottomed shoes.

I wore my DBoots occasionally through an Iowa winter and slippage was minimal if you're careful (who isn't careful when walking on ice/snow anyway?). Actually, I usually fall at least once a year, mostly when stepping down a level and being over-confident, but that didn't happen at all this last year and we had quite a winter. Do with this information as you will.
