Clarks Desert Boots - Page 234

Have some nicely beat up taupe DBs in 10 if anyone is interested.

I know the general consensus is that the Clarks of old were much better than the modern day stuff, but besides from being made in Vietnam, what exactly is different? Do the new Clark's fall apart after a few hundred miles?

Thanks for confirming. The BR by me doesn't carry Clarks, my friend got his at their sister store Piperlime with a 40% off coupon a few months ago. I was still hoping I would be able to get a pair from BR but yea it looks like those days are over.

I received a postcard from BR advertising a 40% off on everything regular priced instore and online. If you have a BR, Gap, or Old Navy card you should be able to use the code "PRESALE" to get 40% off some Clarks DBs. They are not listed as an exclusion.

Argh, can't get one. Anyone willing to proxy for me? Or will the 40% off be available to non-card holders too?

I'm wondering that too since I have new oakwoods which i've worn 3 times so far. So if anyone knows then tell as I want to know how they will look beat up.

Also, these are my first pair. The shoes were feeling a little uncomfortable at the front on my toes and also the heel area. I got 9.5 as 10 was way too big so I don't think it's a size issue. Are they just like this? Or will it take time and they will start feeling better?

I think so. I have a pair of 1 yr old Sands that are beat up and they're not even that dark.

Hey guys what color clarks desert boot do you think would go with pretty much every thing? dark/medium washed jeans, olive/dark navy/grey chinos?

I'm thinking beeswax or dark brown suede.. iono any suggestions? I'm sorta new to clarks and don't know all the color ways so any help would be great! thanks.

^^^ You pretty much named them, beeswax or dark brown suede. I've got a pair of taupe ones that I like, but they aren't as versatile as the aforementioned ones.

Will probably pick up a pair in brown suede when I find some on sale.

Pharcyde pulled it off,
but I never really felt desert boots for myself.
Wally's FTW.

I tried on the boots in 2 occasions in the last 2 weeks. Found them too wide to my liking and decided not to pull the trigger.

Couldnt they perhaps be brown? They are either brown or oakwood I'm thinking.

Go with oakwood...that was my choice when considering versatility with different pants/jeans.

No way are they brown (unless there is a new lighter shade of brown that's out). The brown DB's that I have are dark brown and they don't really look different now than they did new.

Looks like a dirty pair of Taupes to me.
