my db's are already crapping out-- the leather heel cup is already peeling from the sole! ******* ****** ass vietnamese construction! wtf

i'm gonna see if i can exchange or something.

plus my heel keeps sliding up a little when i step, leading to sore ******* heels from chafing.

son of a *****, maybe this isn't my shoe. you all know of a superior, better made alternative that has similar styling?

wouldn't your heel sliding indicate that you got them too big?

definitely these are sized as best as i could get them-- even the sides were a little tight because i bought them with the best fit possible. the problem is that there's just two eyelets and doesn't hold my foot enough.

**** these shoes! augh. they look good though and everyone's been complimenting...

I picked up the Desert Kahn in beeswax in my quest for a casual shoe. I already have the db in dark brown suede. This is a low top version of the db with slightly different stitching. Really no difference in look when wearing pants. Anyone else have these? Any opinions?

They appear to be of decent quality, and the price is not terrible.

I saw these in store today. They looked great and I almost bought a pair.

Only problem was that the largest size I could find was an 11 and my toe was right up against the end so I figured they didn't fit. I just looked online now and it looks like they thought it was a good idea to stop offering half sizes above 11. 12 is probably too big while 11.5 would be perfect...oh well...maybe if I find a 12 that is enough on sale I will give them a shot.

For 40 bucks, I'm going to try a pair. I'll let y'all know how they are once I get them.

They have 11.5 online if you're interested.

Red Wing has a line of desert boots available through US retail as well - RW-Evolved. Finished more like Clarks than those Euro/Japanese models up there.
