Clarks Desert Boots - Page 125

Just got my desert boots from villageshoes.com, only took 7 days from New York to Sydney Australia.

I got sz 10 which is the same size I wear chucks and they fit perfectly.

what do you guys think of these American Eagle Desert Boots? does anyone have any more info on them? i was thinking about copping a pair. look nice

The only thing I don't really like in that pic is how the sole has no defined heel, i.e., the sole is all flat. Other than that, they look like a reasonable knockoff.

Yay or nay?

Negatory, soldier.

FYI - J Crew came out with a new oiled leather DB. It looks good and if you click on their online catalog there's a pic of a model wearing a pair.

McAlisters are bigger - I wear 10.5 Clarks and 11 in Mcalister. There's a little wiggle room in the Mcalister toe but the 10.5's were too tight. The Clarks fit me perfect at 10.5.

Quality? Well, J Crew's are made in Italy with smooth leather interior and Clark's interior looks cheaper. I own both so I'm not claiming one is better than the other. I do know that I tend to take care of my McAlisters better and wear them with nicer clothes (they also have a sleeker profile.) With the Clarks I kick them around and don't worry about it because they are cheap & easy to replace.

Any thoughts on these? http://www1.macys.com/catalog/produc...tegoryID=25359 I find the 4 eyelets less appealing than the 2 eyelets on the Clarks, but the Navy and Olive colors are kind of cool.

I assume 8H is 8 1/2.

Ah. that would make sense, thanks.

Handled the J.Crew boots in the store, and I thought they were equally to more crappy, compared to the Clarks; no reason to pay more for the J.Crew.

I like the Clarks a lot but they are a disposable shoe that I would not pay a whole lot to have. Better to save up for Aldens if quality is your no. 1 concern. Get the Clarks, on sale, is my advice.
