No, it isn't.
yes, but thats not the only thing wrong with the lapel
post #4 of 32
Probably it is. OK 20 years ago.

for me it is too wide and i'm not really liking the striped tie and patterned suit.

Yes

This does not look contemporary: buttoning point is too low, lapels are somewhat large (but not too large or ridiculously large).

It's okay if you like wide lapels. It's not if you don't.

Imagine it'd depend who was wearing it - size of head
post #9 of 32
It certainly is a less ordinary look; lapel is not too wide necessarily.

Agreed, but wide lapels like this never really go out of fashion - particularly with a raised lapel notch. The pattern on that jacket also helps it.

The button point really kills it.
During the low button point Dark Ages, I had my MTM
jackets done with a high button point ( for the time) to
avoid this problem. Unfortunately, my prudence was
sabotaged by my expanded waistline.

Slightly wide but wearable. Personally I prefer the label widths that Paul Stuart has always sold because they never look out of style.

No, not too wide. But the bowing of the lapel and maybe the notch angles makes it look slightly dated.

Horrifically outdated for SF standards.

Note the closed quarters.
Note the button stance.
Note the massive lapels.

$20 Ebay jacket?
