Wow, didn't know they had a grey three piece out right now. Did you buy it retail from RL store? If not, where from?

As for the suits:

They look good; you have a good RLBL body. One quick thing, don't button the bottom button on the vest. It looks like a bit of pulling because of a dropped shoulder. I have a similar problem, which causes the crease marks when buttoned. Looking at the unbuttoned photo, they don't line up well. A quick, but not fully fixed fix I sometime have done is move the button. You could have a tailor do it for you in 5 minutes for $3. Or, a much more drastic alteration would be doing stuff with the shoulder, which I wouldn't mess with.

edit- the sleeves might be a bit long.

right is much lower than the left. If it doesn't bother you than leave it. otherwise a tailor can pad the right shoulder

these look better than the vast majority of the otr stuff people post. well done.

Very nice, unless they are 40's, in which case they look terrible and you should donate them to me:)

There looks like a little bit of pulling or something around the jacket button, but it could be a similar problem that I have where one of my shoulders is lower than the other, which causes the button/buttonholes to be offset. A quick, but not fully fixed fix I sometime have done is move the button.

I'm somewhat embarrassed to say that these suits were bought last year during their winter sale. I just don't wear suits very often and only recently had them tailored. Yeah, I did notice that the vest looks slightly off, and the bottom button is actually unbuttoned. I'm not sure if it's because I have a relatively large chest in comparison to the rest of my body.

Which suit are you talking about, if I may ask

I think this 'rule' can be ignored when the vest has a cut-away below the last button with no 'show' button on the cut-away. Some may prefer to leave the bottom button undone but I don't think doing it up is verboten like doing up the bottom button of a coat.

Either my eyes are deceiving me, or this statement is not true.

haha, unfortunately they are 38r. I guess my main concern was how slim the pants were tailored to. I know RLBL suits have strong shoulders, so I thought it may look odd with such slim trousers

the fit is horrendous... send them to me and I'll dispose of them for a nominal fee of course... wink.gif

now in all seriousness, great fit. this is better than quite a few bespoke stuff that has been posted here...

by the way how tall are you and what size jacket? ... just curious

Oh boy 38R? It fits you so horrendously. Look at the shoulders and chest! Too damn small for you. You needa size up to 40R buddy, so sell them to me.

In all seriousness though, it fits really well. Perhaps just need to alter the sleeve length. The slim trousers and strong shoulders are fine, wear them in good health.

On a side note though, what was the damage on these? Were they on sale?

i have noticed this on a few RLBL in magazines, with my own and the OP's.

on RLBL suits the lapels bow out and don't lay flat on the chest. i am not sure why this occurs, does anyone else know?

OP, they look good except for lapel thing.

haha thanks. I got the 3 piece gray pinstripe for 40% off at the Beverly Hills mansion. The linen was was about 50% off from that Mr. Porter sale a while back

Personally, I think the jacket is a tad long. I'd say a 38s would look better but I've heard conflicting arguments so that might be a personal judgment call. Overall fit looks great.

Were you part of the Mr Porter founder's sale?

The pulling around the button for the first jacket seems a little more than ideal, but otherwise I like the fit.
