Does anyone know a truly great Shirt Maker in Napoli?

I have been making my Suits and Shirts (even Shoes now too) in Napoli for the past 11 years.

I will be going there shortly for a fitting . Was wondering if anyone on the Forum has a truly great shirt maker in Napoli .

Please ,not someone who has read about it....actually made or making his shirts in Napoli.

My shirt maker is the nicest person i know and i have stuck with him for 10 years.

Sadly he REALLY stinks and I have over 140 shirts from him to prove it....lol

He has tried and tried and they are ALL awful. Its time to look for someone else.

PLEASE help.

Sounds like you don't care, so what's your complaint? I mean, how awful can he be if you've commissioned 140 shirts from him (and it seems most anyone could do a better job, so what's your question)?

And if you've been going to Napoli regularly for 11 years, you pretty much have more experience with the region than 99.999% of the people here and one would have thought you would have come into contact with various shirtmakers, if only through word of mouth from your suit maker/shoe maker and just walking around confused.gif And what if someone recommends the same guy you are using now? and why did you get 140 bad shirts? This is an odd first post. Anyway, if you search on here, you'll see names such as Anna Matuozo, Maria Santangelo, Piccolo. Then there are the buig brands such as Finamore etc

Have you made any bespoke shirts in Naples and are you happy with them? If so be kind enough to share the name .... if you are have not, then its really irrelevant for you to answer this post . Unless you enjoy making comments. lol

Please be respectful (esp. to veteran members). We are trying to help you.

I, for one, do not understand your problem.

One can think someone is a great person and still think their work is not really good!!!!

Anyway I thought perhaps someone would have a great recommendation from personal experience on this forum.

Perhaps I have made mistake. Regardless thank you for your life lessons...lol

Then I take it you're merely a glutton for punishment. wink.gif

No one can get it wrong as your present tailor can, and should you forsake him, you may regret it.

Anyhow, good luck! =^.^=

Anna Matuozo has been mentioned consistently here as one of the best shirt makers in Italy. For some, even the world. However, different people have different tastes and different perceptions of quality. The whole spirit of bespoke is experimenting and finding your preferences in garments so you can find someone to stick with. Bespoke is only as good as your relationship with your tailor and generally gets far better over time. All respect due, it seems you have missed the relationship step by maintaining ties with a sub-par producer.

In terms of your OP, the "best shirt in the world" is discussed in this thread. While not all the houses discussed are in Napoli, I'm sure it can lend some help. Best of luck in your search.
