Yes, it says spring.
I suffer from a paucity of season-appropriate clothing since I live in a tropical climate. I'm planning a three or four week trip to the New York, San Francisco, Austin and maybe LA in March. What should be in my travel wardrobe? I will pick up some pieces before the trip and fill in the holes at shops along the way.
My main concern right now is outerwear. What's a good piece that'll work across all those cities and temperatures? Since I'm traveling I think I can only handle one piece at the most. Anything more will take up too much space and weight. I was thinking an A-2 bomber (TOJ?) or a quilted jacket (Barbour?).
Besides that, I'm looking for ideas for the following:
Sportcoats: What materials? I'm thinking corduroys, heavy cotton-linen blends, maybe a woolen birdseye. What colours or patterns would you suggest?
Knitwear: Styles, materials and weights? I have some chunky cable-knit and shawl collared sweaters.
Trousers: Corduroys, heavier cotton twills, what else?
Footwear: Probably doesn't require any special planning, really. I'll just take what I like.
Thanks.
