Loose weight - build muscle?

Thread Starter
I exercise a lot (2 times a day) but I cannot shed the last fat around my stomach area. I have three questions:

1) What would you recommend in terms of something that can help me shed that fat? Any supplements you can recommend ?

2) I am also hoping to quickly build more muscle. Any suggestions on how this can be done ? I lift a lot of weights (min. 3 times a week) but I need some good tips on how to quickly boost my muscle strength.

3) Is there a body building forum which you could recommend ?

So let me get this straight, you claim to do two-a-days constantly, lift 3 x wk, yet can't shed the flab and have no idea on how to actually get stronger/gain weight?

Dude, what in the fuck are you even doing at the gym?

SF H&B seems to be the logical choice.

you need to cut diet/ and do a lot of cardio.. that is the only way to shed the fat.

You are incorrect in your assesment.

It's 80% diet and 20% cardio. I've finally been losing the last bit around my stomach and the fat loss is slow in that area for most people. Cut out the grains - breads, pasta, rice.

As funny as Scooby looks, he's a good source of information

LOL! worship.gif Hey, I post what's worked for me, and these things have worked magnificently - far beyond my expectations. 75lbs lighter and an (almost) flat stomach. I'd post a pic, but I can't stop myself from making a duckface.

So there. Good day, sir.

So are you going to tell us the secret so we don't all have to do the pee-pee dance in anticipation ?

yeah, a caloric deficit works 100% of the time. No anti carb bullshit required.

I don't get it. You are ripping every response, including this one (that makes sense, and I agree with you, some of the responses are dubious). So please tell us, what is the key to losing the last bit from the abdomen?

Take up boxing, builds muscle and discipline: a winning combination.

Consume less than you burn - work out your RMR and maintain an average daily deficit of 500 calories to burn a pound of fat a week. Any exercise will be considered a bonus. To build muscle and strength, focus on the compound exercises - squats, deadlifts, bench press and military press. Lift heavy and always in good form. Recovery is as important as training.

You have said nothing of your age. If you are over 40, have your testosterone level checked. If it is low, increasing your testosterone level will help you lose weight and build lean mass. I use Con-Cret creatine supplement to help with the muscle building (recommended by my trainer). Works well for me.

My work is 3 days cardio/ab training and 2 days weightlifting one week and 3 days weightlifting/2 days cardio/abs the next, alternating each week. I am on a high protein/low fat/low carb diet (40%/28%/32%) that seems to work quite well. I used to weigh 337 and now weigh about 218. Still have a mid section to get rid of, but I do have a six-pack underneath and some really good muscle tone. Just my $0.02.

Insanity did wonders for me , I mean diet was a big part but the abs thing worked great.
