Stephen Colbert Tie?

I have been searching for quite awhile for this tie - most say it is Brooks Brothers but I have never managed to find a match. I just sorted though 45 pages of eBay ties and figured I'd give posting it here a shot. I saw the HD version awhile ago and it appears there are gray stripes along the white border. Any help would be great!

Thanks!

The exact tie doesn't seem to be on the Brooks Brothers, but I'm almost entirely certain it's one of theirs.

The stripes are consistent with their style and color palette, and Colbert makes a point to buy all of his on-air clothing from Brooks.

It's part of his character's right-wing pundit persona.

He even went so far as to have them make him a suit out of mil-spec camouflage fabric when he performed for the troops overseas.

Best of luck finding the tie.

Here are some similar pieces, should that particular one prove too elusive.

That is a nice tie. This one from Sam Hober, is nice as well and at least the colors are similar.

If you watch the credits it says "Wardrobe provided by Brooks Brothers".

A lot of the stuff he wears is made just for him.

Yeah, but I doubt they don't sell that tie somewhere. They provide it because they want to showcase it and have people buy it. If OP goes to a store i'm sure they can help him. I've seen the pattern before split-repp, its just a matter of finding a store with the colors - not everything BB has is online.

I've sent a request to Brooks Brothers, they are letting one of their product specialists look into it for me. I'll let you all know of the result.

Yup. Brooks gives him his wardrobe, they get a credit. And they get prominently featured when he goes to London and learns about how to interact with royals (week-long bit with him in the Brooks London flagship, with among other things, him getting fitted for tails).

BTW, Jon Stewart gets Armani and his correspondents are Banana Republic if you're ever wondering about those.

Brooks managed to find out the name and item number for me - still can't find it online.

Blue Bold Stripe from SP11 ? style #000000-51914026

I'm going to explore some stores near me soon.

So they game you the style number but can't help you to buy it?

No doubt. With an exact style number and season, they should be able to check their stores' inventories and help you find one.

That pattern is known as the BB1, it is just in non-traditional colors.

If he goes to a store, they'll probably be able to find one in their system and order it, from another store if necessary, if there are any still in stock.

The folks at the corporate office probably don't have any easy way to do that. The online shop stuff would be run out of a different place, and they would have to get a tie from one of the stores to the warehouse for the online store, which, given the differences in selection, probably has a different distribution channel than the stuff sent to stores...

It's quite possible it would be an ungodly mess to get you the tie from the corporate office, but easy to get one if you go to a store, just depending on how their system is set up.
