Big A, I'm sure velvet slippers would work in the proper setting. An evening of romping comes to mind, if you're not against the threat of something sticky dropping on the pair. Booze and such.

I'm getting married this August and abhor the idea of wearing patent leather shoes with my tux. No matter the quality and expense, I think they look cheap. My fiancee and I both love to dance, and I would love to wear a nice pair of black velvet slippers to fulfill the formal look while also feeling comfortable. She thinks I'm crazy for even suggesting the idea of slippers. Advice? Ideas?

Saw this guy on instagram @cesarrenuan that makes custom slippers with tons of options on the website.. haven't bought any yet but have played around with the website 

 

Has anyone purchased from him?
