First, I realize most self made men today have a deep background in computer science and engineering and that I am at a great disadvantage (seemingly?) by not having even the slightest working knowledge of these fields.
So what can I do? I really have no clue where to begin or what can provide me a plausible route to becoming a self made man. I have no specialized skill or knowledge; what to do?
Open restaurant? Bar? These are notoriously difficult businesses with a failure rate of about 75 percent.
Write a screenplay or novel? What are the odds a) it will be good and b) it will sell enough to get picked up/ optioned AND become a hit?
Go back to school and learn a trade and profit--but what trade? What can I do that some factory in china cannot do at a record speed?
I think inventing something is actually the most plausible route. I have some ideas--which I will not post here for obvious reasons. What is next step besides having a good idea for an invention. I have no experience in this either.
