Corthay trunk show in London (Harrods)

Since about six months, Corthay ready-to-wear shoes have been stocked (as the only UK venue) in the Harrods shoe department (Kurt Geiger). This weekend the Corthay firm is having a trunk show there, offering not only ready-to-wear, but also made-to-order and, to say it in French “sur mesure” (fully bespoke).

I had no idea the show was on and stumbled across it by accident. A young man was demonstrating the colour effects achieved with dyes and polishes on the finished shoes. Then I spotted Pierre Cothay himself, surrounded by various absolutely superb samples of his bespoke shoes. Anyone interested in shoes who can make it into Harrods should have a look. The trunk show is still on tomorrow (Sunday) and M. Corthay (whose English is superb) will be in attendance all day.

Perhaps we can quiz Pierre on the supposed business relationship he holds with Ascot Shoes:embar:

Similarly I stumbled once in the past on his trunk show in Geneva.

Apparently Pierre Corthay will open a store in London in December on Motcomb Street. More details here.

Pierre is a great Guy. Passionate about his goods. The only one I know of that makes/designs his own lasts. Well made, beautiful, unusual offerings.
