In today's FT there's a piece on Lapo Elkann's involvement with the Ferrari bespoke service.
It's worth buying the print edition just for the photos.

Is this a good thing?

Like bespoke suits, I would imagine that for every car that has a "just perfect" fit or colour combination, there are several hundred made in Denim, Silk, Moleskin and other materials that should never have come near such cars.

He is the Ozwald Boateng of car upholsterers; great for pimps and playboys but leave me Pininfarina and Mulliner for the real Savile Row style experience.

EDIT: I appear to have put my analogy in a food blender. Forgive me.
