I'll be attending a company beach side dinner in Puerto Rico in a couple of weeks and have settled on a pair of cotton/linen dark gray pants, a white shirt, and a wool/linen mid gray jacket, all leaning a bit to the casual side of cool.
My problem is the shoes - I don't have any casual black or gray shoes and am really lost at what would even work. Casual and black shoes just don't go together in my mind. Also, I'm thinking my "outfit" (ahem) would be better served sans socks (or at least using no-shows).
I would love to see/hear some ideas. I'm up for a pair of throw-away's in the sub $100 range or, if it's something nice that I'd get more use out of, would be happy to pay the $200-$300 range (the higher the price the more I'm going to want something that get's future use)
Of course it goes without saying that probably nobody will even notice or care about my shoes but me, but...
