I was hoping someone could give me an idea of how much I should pay for some simple alterations of a suit jacket in Sydney? Probably just having the sleeves shortened, and possibly having the waist taken in if it's not too pricey. I've done some research but can't find any cost estimates - just the adage that you shouldn't be a tight-arse and have cheap, badly done alterations ruin your suit.
...Which makes sense, but since the suit itself was little over $200, and I'm currently on the job-hunt, I don't want to spend too much on it. I saw good things said about M & R Taylors and figured I should check them out, but having absolutely no reference for a price isn't ideal.
So if anyone can give me a ruff estimate of what I should pay for having the sleeves shortened and the waist suppressed it would be much appreciated :)
Also, given that it is a cheap suit, would it be a cheaper and generally better option to go to a more general clothing alterations store (eg www.alterationstudio.com.au) rather than specifically a bespoke taylor?
