I thought I had it down pat, now I'm just confused.

Could any of you rank the following combinations from STRETCHIEST (very stretchy & will change shape) to STIFFEST (meaning, like, if I wear them often, they will hardly stretch at all)

100% cotton, 98% cotton 2% polyurethane, 98% cotton 2% elastane

Also, would say a pair of APC's 100% cotton or 98%/2% mix STRETCH differently than a say a pair of Nudie's 100% cotton or 98%/2% mix?

Thanks!

I'm kind of new to this whole thing so correct me if im wrong anyone else, but i think you have to consider denim weight as well. What a pain **********.

You have it opposite actually.

Denim with stretch material (poly, lycra, elastane) will stretch when you wear it, but then return to their original size more or less (+/- 0.5") while cotton will be less stretchy when you wear it, but for the most part the amount that you get in stretch by wearing it will be maintained, until the jeans are washed. APC NS will stretch probably 1-2" and stay that way, while 7FAM Stretch Bootcut will stretch 0.5" max IMO but will be comfier because they'll stretch to suit your body.

So, what you're saying is both of them will stretch when I'm wearing them, it's just the pure cotton jeans generally will not retain their original shape unelss washed?

Yes, although they usually won't go all the way back to their original shape.

What this means is that when you try on jeans, if you're buying stretch jeans, buy the size that fits you best, while if you are buying cotton jeans you want it to be slightly tight because it will stretch.
