I wear a small pink rose alot. Sometimes with a square. No definitive rule IMO.

No, there is nothing wrong with wearing both.

The 'classic' lapel flower is a small carnation. As a matter of fact there is a specific variety but I can't remember what it is.

Other than that a small tight rose bud is nice.

Can a man wear a small cymbidium orchid? Or is that too much like a corsage? I actually don't know.

Something local from the seasonal garden can be a great choice, but that would require some more knowledge of where you are and what's currently in season. This is beyond my knowledge in general - but here in the south that would be a small white camelia.

Just be sure to keep it smallish and simply.

You might search the WAYRN thread for pics of olddog/newtrix . He wears a lapel flower quite frequently.

Red mini-carnation is the classic flower as it will look good all day without water. White carnations for evening.
