$12 for a bus trip like that is insane, lol. It's like $15 by cab from my house to three blocks away.

I've never had a problem bringing my Mach 3 Turbo razor on board an airplane, other than an international flight. A straight razor would be a problem.

Airlines generally allow one carry-on bag and one personal bag. A briefcase/laptop bag would qualify as personal so long as you can fit it underneath the seat in front of you.

bus is 2 hours and drops you off right in the city on Arch St. Not sure where Amtrak does.

Ok, so if you pack for a carry-on, I have to assume you can only fit 3 or 4 days of clothes in there. If I throw in a few sets of workout clothes that's even less room. Plus all the underwear that Pio recommends. What do you do about laundry? Do hotels have a service or do I need to go to the local pharmacy, get a small Tide, and wash my clothes in the sink?

I've sometimes do this when my trips are for a week or more. In fact, I washed a few things while in HK a few weeks ago.

Do not bring sets of workout clothes. If you must, bring only an old tshirt and shorts. Your hotel, if it is a decent one, will have laundry services just like any other room service available.

Most good hotels will have a laundry service. Nice . . . if someone else is paying. If you think you might run out of clean clothes, get some concentrated laundry detergent for camping (sold at outdoor stores like REI), and do your laundry in the hotel sink.

Yeah, Rambo you're not stinking up the hotel room with your sweaty gym socks. I'll pay for the laundry services, just have the hotel wash your dirty underwear like a normal human.
