I think I have seen versions where the zipper is on the outside of the belt, which would make it possible to actually get at the money for use without appearing to publicly strip -- while remaining very difficult for a would-be thief to access (at the very least without alerting the wearer).

I can only imagine this would be a good place to keep money to pay... erm... escorts.

You don't travel much, do you ...

I had one of those money belts when I was a kid. Pretty dumb design IMO.

I heard hidden pockets are very functional on the streets of Napoli. No wonder Battisti ties have them!

Next Battisti will introduce cashmere/kevlar sport jackets and sweaters! Earlier this year in Napoli, my hotel room was too hot so I had the balcony doors open... at 2:00 am and heard gun shots - needless to say after that sacrificed climate comfort for safety and peace of mind!

My tailor told me a story about a client of his (a native of Chicago) from the early-to-mid 70's who had him work pockets into the inner sleeves of his overcoats, presumably to stash cash.

I do not travel in circles where this would come in handy, nor do I carry that kind of cash. smile.gif

I think my wallet is worth more on its own than what I actually ever carry in it so Im not too concerned with secret pockets.

I don't carry a wallet, but I was thinking about carrying a decoy wallet with a few old cards and a couple dollars in it so if I ever get mugged I can just give the fucker the decoy.

Problem for me is I don't have 200 gold ounces. Maybe I'll practice with lead until my luck improves.

Hell, I can't even get through airport metal detectors wearing collar stays.
