This shoe is not really appropriate for a suit. Although it has nothing to do with the burnished toe.
This shoe is a DERBY and technically for a suit you want an OXFORD (sometimes also called a BALMORAL. This has to do with the way the area around the lacing is constructed. Generally speaking, If the sidesof the shoe coming up to form the lacing are applied to the outside of the shoe as a separate piece of leather that makes it a derby. If the leather that forms the lacing area is sewn under or directly into the outside of the shoe this is considered an oxford.
In addition, the stiching detail over the 'toe' of the shoe is generally considered to be only appropriate for more casual clothing than a suit. (Perhaps with a sport coat).
You will see people wearing loafers and derbies with suits - but technically it is not correct. These shoes should only be worn with sport coats or less formal fits.
