First and desperate post

Hi all, after reading your style posts and comments for a long time, I have decided to post for the first time today, I am desperate looking for this blazer (seen on spanish ESQUIRE magazine Jul/Aug. number).

495

I would like you to please inform me if possible where could I buy it, they say it is cashmere and silk from Polo Ralph Lauren.

Thanks to all in advance for your help and for this awesome style forum.

Are you based in Spain or elsewhere? If you're in the US then you can probably buy it directly from the Ralph Lauren website. If elsewhere, then you'll just have to find somewhere that sells Ralph Lauren, there must be somewhere in Spain; it looks like there are Polo factory stores in Seville and Madrid.

It's not on the RL website - since this is in the July/August mag, it may be from the summer collection or something and now gone out of season. In that case, keep checking ebay, etc., if you really need this specific sport coat. It shouldn't be too hard to find something similar though, if that's good enough for you

RL is notorious for showing things in the fashion mags that are not available at retail or only through made to measure programs. I don't know if this is the case with this.

That is an RLPL Glenn Plaid SC. Actually, I think that might be part of a suit, IIRC. Either way that was definitely in the S/S 2011 collection from RLPL. I saw it many times at the Atlanta RL boutique.

Here's a similar one. Doesn't look like it's this past season's offering but it's more or less what you're looking for.

The unusual thing about the coat in the OPs picture, and what makes it quite different to the linked coat, is the very large scale of the glen check. This also suggests that it's probably not part of a suit, though I obviously can't be certain about that. A suit from that fabric would be quite 'FU'.

Also the text in the image, despite being partially cut off, suggests that the OP is correct about it being Polo, rather than RLPL.

Yeah. I was struggling to find the larger plaid. This was as close as I could find with a couple minutes on teh Google.

I dunno why I think I remember it being a suit. However I have a suit that has only a slightly smaller check than that and I have worn it many a time. Crazy, over-the-top FU and I love it. So perhaps when I saw the jacket in store it reminded me of my suit? I can't be sure.

Either way that is what the OP is looking for (my answer, not the eBay auction). Perhaps he can try and call a RL store to see if there is leftover stock somewhere? That's a long-shot, however.

That's not even close. And Vittorio is becoming a pain to deal with. His measurements are constantly wrong and he doesn't really try at all.

There should be contact information in the magazine, to someone who can help you find out more about the jacket - such as whether or not it's truly out of season and -if so- where you may be able to find one for sale (I would assume these things are wholesaled to outlets).

Thanks for the answers and opinions, I do not know why but I am in love with that blazer, I like a lot the checks but I can not find it in Polo´s web site.

I am from Madrid but it is not available, if I could only know the name of the model or other one that is similar from another brand would be georgeous.

My size is 38 so although that Polo one is similar enough it does not fit me.

If you can add any other helping comment I would appreciate it too much.

Not sure about that! - Apart from 'Polo Ralph Lauren' (the name of the company?), I can also see 'Cashmere'
and 'Purple Label'.

Looks to me much more like something from the 'Purple Label' than from the ordinary 'Polo' collection.

No, it looks like it says the coat is by Polo and the shirt is RLPL. "Algodon" is Spanish for cotton, suggesting that part is about the shirt.

Agreed algodon refers to the shirt (or the pocket square). However I am also sure that the SC/suit I was referring to (which looks identical to this) was RLPL since I tried it on in-store. It is possible they have similar patterns. Likewise, if this is in fact a PRL SC then I'd bet it is a MTM custom job for the shoot (as referenced in a post above).
