Any NEUTRAL style hats for balding men, without looking like a stereotype/archetype?

For example, the "cabbie" hat is just such a specific niche that most men may not feel comfortable playing.

A wool hat may be a bit too "rapper"
A baseball hat may be a bit too blue collar and/or 20s frat boy.

What are some options men have that fits into MC style?
No, I am not balding, but eventually my time will come.
Personally, I will just cut if close, and not do the hat thing at all.
I simply think it's a good discussion topic.

Although I am young I have been bald for almost 4 years now. I wear an American flag baseball cap I got overseas with tshirt/jeans type clothes but never really felt the need to wear a hat when "dressed up." In the winter I wear a cashmere knit hat but everybody does because you'd be crazy to go without one when its 0f out.

I really don't think you're anywhere close to the forum you thought you were on. I might try dumbassamericantourists.com, or inadvertantgaysexactnameforamerka.org.

Excuse me? The point was, as a bald man, I never wear a hat outside of jeans and tshirt and I don't think one exists, other than the caps in the OP, that go with more formal clothes. Maybe you think you're being edgy and cool in your disdain for the US but you really sound like a douchebag. Which is odd since you seem to be American.

Derailed already? Please, I'd love to see if there is an answer to this one.
Anyone recall seeing photos of hats that seamlessly fit into MC: wingtips, trousers, dress shirts, ties, jackets, etc.

I'm saying that this is styleforum, and that under no circumstances is this:

USA-5.1.jpg

ever stylish. Even with casual clothing. The two groups I see wearing such things are the stupid tourists who give the rest of us a horrible name, or teabaggers, who give the rest of us a horrible name.

I don't disdain America, which I suppose is your nice way of calling me a godless hate america first islamomarxiterrorfascist. I do, however, hate people who try to be more patriotic than thou, and American flag clothing usually signals that.

e: Haha, that looks horrible on the first page without the smiley next to it.

That hat is absurd. I'm talking a tan hat with a subdued flag, they're common in the military, which is why I have it.

This driving cap was made by Bookster. You can choose a fabric and they will make the hat. You can even choose to have a sportscoat made at the same time and have them match. Its advantage is that it stays on your head when driving a convertible, something that a fedora or a Panama may not. I am more concerned about reducing sun exposure than hiding a bald spot. Rogain works on about 50% of men. But an issue that has bothered me is if you wear a hat, are you appearing stylish or like some old fart whose gerontologist told to go wear a hat?

I'm sure that's true, but it's still not stylish in the MC sense - and style is, after all, what this forum is about. My father was a military man, and I don't think you would ever have caught him sporting such a cap even when at his most casual. Understated flag cufflinks or a pin might be as far as he would ever go.

Yea, that driving cap is just too much of a comic book caricature to me.
It's sort of like a bowtie, but not nearly as limiting/defining.

Fedora is summed up by this:

It's more of a modern thing. The SF guys wear them overseas because they will tell you that a ball cap stops bullets just as well as a kevlar. And whatever the cool kids wear eventually trickles down to us grunts. In any case, the point of the post was that I only wear a hat in the most casual clothes and a hat doesn't exist that wouldn't land you in the archetype or stereotype category. Excuse the double negative. Fedoras would make the look seem like an era fit, as would a driving cap or worse a newsboy cap. In my opinion, a bald man should rock his dome proudly unless it's too cold.

I find what is usually acceptable are Driving Caps or Newsboy Caps

They come in several styles and look decent when done right.

Problem is they will NOT keep you warm.
