I don't think you have the idea right. RLBL doesn't have much padding I think; it's the sleeve head that's very structured/roped. Go feel the shoulder, much of what you think of padding are on the points. But as for whether you should do a RLBL shoulder? I don't think so. I think it works well for me, but for most people the shoulders are too wide and daunting. If you want to base it off an existing brand you can look at, look at Ralph Lauren Purple Label. It has the light padding with a nice roped shoulder with a very clean line.

In my opinion, if you really want an elegant design, it has to have a roped shoulder. If you want a really nice roped shoulder without padding talk to Despos. He makes a fantastic shoulder with little to no padding. Ask him about it.

Natural, but im talking like American Kiton/Attolini/Isaia, or even TF. If you are gong for something like a bespoke NSM which has no padding at all them im not sure the majority of the american market will go for that look. People on here sure, but from a business point of view a little padding wont hurt smile.gif

OK just to be clear - when I say "natural" there will actually be a VERY small pad - it won't be completely natural/unpadded. Will be experimenting a bit - hope some of you will be up to being a guinea pig.

Surely, the only answer, as in all questions like this is that, though he may have a preference for one or the other, a gentleman needs jackets of each configuration for any eventuality?
