How to tell if it's a Kiton shirt?

I recently bought a Kiton shirt on eBay, and I have no reason to believe it isn't Kiton but never having owned one myself I was wondering how to tell for sure or if there's a telltale.

Let me know your thoughts and thank you in advance.

Looks real to me. Nice shirt as well.

Look for handmade features, i.e. buttonholes should be handmade. Kiton are one of the few elite brands that actually prefer the hand to machine.

I am shocked, is this what Kiton shirts retail for second hand? Dang, I recently chucked a couple of them in a black bag for donation to salvation army thinking they were worth nothing 2nd hand.

I'm no expert but at a glance of the last pic (best closeup) the buttonholes look pretty clean, ie hand stitched. Post a close-up of the label and buttons + holes if you get it and are still worried.

Yep, a little expensive. I wanted the shirt for 2 reasons. First, I've never owned a Kiton previously and second I wanted to see what a cotton/linen would be like. I was in Vegas recently and tried on a Kiton at the Kiton store. They wanted $900 for a cotton/linen shirt...somehow $98 didn't seem that bad after that....

Find the RN number on the inner tag and enter it here: https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/textilern/wrnquery$.startup Fair warning: this doesn't always work.

Basically, if the collar is attached by hand, the shoulders as well, as well as the shoulder seams - it's real. I doubt any fakers would go to that length / have the skill. I'm not too great at telling whether a buttonhole is sewn by hand - there's supposed to be countless examples in my wardrobe but they all look machine sewn to me.

Yup and the buttons have the crows feet stitching, and behind the collar there is a white thing i have no idea what its called but here are pics from a couple of mine

The last one is an Isaia which i put up because of the red stitching so it would be easier to see the "crows feet"

I hope you like the shirt. Getting a taste for Kiton is like getting a taste for truffles. Uniquely flavorsome and interesting, but your wallet will feel a little lightweight afterwards.

BTW, although Kiton shirts do indeed sell at full retail, the smarter people wait for deep discounts to come in. It is possible, with a little knowhow, to get those shirts under $150 BNWT. There is a little secret to it, and it is related to making friends in the right kind of places wink.gif .

Does it feel magical when you wear it? That's the first sign you're wearing authentic Kiton.

Very helpful and thank you for this. This shirt has both of these items so I do think I'm good on this purchase.

Also, thanks to everyone for their responses. It did help. Now I just need to have the arm length taken in a bit and possibly the length done up a bit also.

Cheers.
