Why should they put real crab in a california roll? Only ignorant sluts (haha!) buy california rolls. Most of them, if not all, wouldn't even taste a difference between surimi and real crab. So why should the sushi-treadmill-owner increase his expenses?

I've seen it before. It's better than a standard one, but I'm not a fan of crappy sushi and don't care to spend on/find good sushi.

lol at Drew. Reminds me of this Chinese owned sushi buffet not far from my hs that provides extra bottles of wasabi and spicy mayo at each table.

Serious question though....

Has anyone tried any of the mail order sashimi places in the states? I've been in withdrawal here lately but will be back in Chicago in a couple months and I'm wondering if there are any out there that are worth ordering from. Looking for some good quality, fresh uni and toro in particular. Any recommendations or should I just eat out?

Every time someone wants to talk about real sush in a sushi thread, they are eventually called a snob, but I don't think that is fair.
