Two Bespoke Suits from London (Pics) - Page 3

post #31 of 34
IMO it's not just a matter of a short jacket, it's taht it looks totally unbalanced, like top heavy. I think the button stance is probably what really accentuates it.

in retrospect, the shoulders aren't really all that bad actually (suit #1, on suit #2 (peaks) they are)

I have to agree - it's all shoulders and no skirt at the moment. A combination of raising the buttoning point, lengthening the jacket and maybe adding a bit of flare to the skirt would balance out the strong shoulders. I'm sure IRL the jackets look fine of course, just maybe a little bit "fashion".

Nice suit but here's what I notice at first glance:
1) Too much padding in the shoulders;
2) Too tight when buttoned; &
3) Sleeves need to be let out about 1/2 inch.

No, that would make it more balanced, but his v-shaped body type ultimately will show through unless the suit is baggy. The suit does have flap pockets, which help. Maybe a (professional) tailor, a very good one, would have some other tricks. Wearing a colorful tie would distract slightly from the extreme silhouette.
