How to read the size of these Brooks Brothers opera pumps?

Dear Folks:

I have an older pair of BB opera pumps. The kind with the grosgrain bows. Made for BB in England.

Like this:

They fit my own us 8.5 feet very uncomfortably, so I think they are a us 8. But I can't figure how to read any of the figures printed inside. Here they are:

Any help appreciated.

I have a few pairs of shoes with metallic numbering on the inside like that, and in no case that I have seen does it correspond to the sizing.

There should be a tag elsewhere, but if not, it sounds like you know (1) that they don't fit you, and (2) that they fit roughly an 8, so worst case scenario you still have enough info to sell them, especially if you provided insole and outsole measurements.

No tag elsewhere.

I still hope that someone has the BB Secret Size Decoder Ring.

Just here to learn.
