Whenz the eggnog comin'?

That's what I want to know. I've been waiting since January. I know it's always available before Thanksgiving, but does it hit the dairy shelves before Halloween? I hope so, cuz I'd like a big cup right now.

And another thing: why is it only available 6 weeks a year? What other dairy products are so limited? None that I know of. Is there some law that restricts eggnog's availability? Or is it no one is thinking outside the box?

Have done so, but mine just isn't as tasty as that coming from the dairy.

I've tried three so far and it's never as good as what I get in the store. It's also hard to get over the idea of drinking raw eggs, despite how safe I know it is.

I too love the stuff.

Last year, my dad brought by a bottle of eggnog pre-mixed with rum. My wife and I polished that off pretty quick. I cannot remember the last time I bought a bottle of liquor, but I may need to go out and look for one of those now that the weather is cooling down again.

In canada it shows up for 2 weeks at the beginning of October. Then leaves until December 1st or so

Which recipes have you tried? I've received nothing but praise from the Good Eats recipe.

HMMMMM may have to try this.

BTW: Count me in as pro-eggnog, particularly with a generous hit of bourbon or rum or cognac or any combination thereof. takes the edge off dealing with the fambly.

Shit, that's about how much bourbon I put in my own glass, then I fill with eggnog.
