No, I'm not a total newbie asking for the zillionth time how to shrink 501s. Rather, I wanted to see if anyone else is having problems with the particular grey 501s sold in the Levi's store. I bought a pair last week and put them through the routine I've used reliably on my indigo pairs: hour in a hot tub and hang. This returned very little shrinkage. Maybe an inch in length but not much more. Thinking it was just a fluke, I exchanged them at the store for a new pair, and this time they were on sale. Lucky me! This time I took no prisoners -- two hours in hot water, hang for fifteen, and then straight into the dryer on high heat. Normally, STFs would barely button up after this treatment. But once again, I got close to zilch. They're baggy and two inches too long. Since they're a sale pair, I can't return them.

Anyone else experienced this problem? They were clearly labeled as STF. The only difference from my indigos, aside from the color, is the back patch, which is real leather rather than cardboard. Anything else I can try to shrink these suckers?
