After many years of trying to find a shoe guy in my area who actually knows what he is doing, I have found one. I realized I am probably not the only person on this board who has struggled with this.
So here is my idea. Post the names and contact info of competent shoe cobblers in this thread for those who are starting out or moving to a new area.

By "really knows his stuff", what exactly do you mean? What types of services have you struggled to find where the cobblers didn't have adequate skill level? I know with suits, shoulders can be difficult to work with for a normal alterations folks. So I'm just looking for an idea as to what you are referring to.

I'll give you one. One of the cobblers I use is colour-blind. Long story short, he does wonderful work, as long as the shoes I have him work on are black.
