A sleeker loafer

It seems that every loafer style I have seen, penny, tassel, Venetian, driving moc are rather bulky. I'm particularly annoyed with the stitching across the vamp. Not sure what to call it, but it's the same stitching that you always find on split-toe shoes, except on a loafer it occurs without necessarily a split-toe.

Does there exist anything more sleek like the traditional English velvet slipper (shown below), except in leather instead of velvet? Or wait, could I just wear a velvet slipper as a loafer (as in, not just around the house)?

C&J has loafer on 348/358 lasts thats fairly sleek, but not in the slipper style you looking for.

Why don't you get some Italian loafers.

Something from Gucci or Prada. Their construction is much sleeker and they are going to have the lack of detail you are looking for.

Visvim also have very sporty / youngish loafers (which David Beckham has a pair)

How about Cleverley's elastic-sided shoes? Do they count as loafers? They look sleeker than any pair of loafers I've seen.
